And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
Abraham was now old and well advanced in years, and the Lord had blessed him in every way.
Now Abraham was old and far on in years: and the Lord had given him everything in full measure.

And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:

And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:
I want you to swear by the Lord , the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living,
And take an oath by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not get a wife for my son Isaac from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I am living;
And I will make thee swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that thou wilt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell.
创24:4 你要往我本地本族去,为我的儿子以撒娶一个妻子。”
But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?
The servant asked him, "What if the woman is unwilling to come back with me to this land? Shall I then take your son back to the country you came from?"
And the servant said, If by chance the woman will not come with me into this land, am I to take your son back again to the land from which you came?
And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land. Must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?

And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.
Make sure that you do not take my son back there," Abraham said.
And Abraham said, Take care that you do not let my son go back to that land.

创24:7 耶和华天上的主曾带领我离开父家和本族的地,对我说话,向我起誓说:‘我要将这地赐给你的后裔。’他必差遣使者在你面前,你就可以从那里为我儿子娶一个妻子。
The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.
The Lord , the God of heaven, who brought me out of my father's household and my native land and who spoke to me and promised me on oath, saying, 'To your offspring I will give this land'-he will send his angel before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there.
The Lord God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my birth, and made an oath to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land: he will send his angel before you and give you a wife for my son in that land.
Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house, and from the land of my nativity, and who spake unto me, and who sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land. He will send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife for my son from thence.
创24:8 倘若女子不肯跟你来,我使你起的誓就与你无干了,只是不可带我的儿子回那里去。”
And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.
If the woman is unwilling to come back with you, then you will be released from this oath of mine. Only do not take my son back there."
And if the woman will not come with you, then you are free from this oath; only do not take my son back there.
And if the woman be not willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath. Only thou shalt not bring my son thither again.
创24:9 仆人就把手放在他主人亚伯拉罕的大腿底下,为这事向他起誓。
And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.
So the servant put his hand under the thigh of his master Abraham and swore an oath to him concerning this matter.

创24:10 那仆人从他主人的骆驼里取了十匹骆驼,并带些他主人各样的财物,起身往美索不达米亚去,到了拿鹤的城。
And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.
Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and left, taking with him all kinds of good things from his master. He set out for Aram Naharaim and made his way to the town of Nahor.
And the servant took ten of his master's camels, and all sorts of good things of his master's, and went to Mesopotamia, to the town of Nahor.

创24:11 天将晚,众女子出来打水的时候,他便叫骆驼跪在城外的水井那里。
And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.
He had the camels kneel down near the well outside the town; it was toward evening, the time the women go out to draw water.
And he made the camels take their rest outside the town by the water-spring in the evening, at the time when the women came to get water.
And he made the camels to kneel down without the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water.
创24:12 他说:“耶和华我主人亚伯拉罕的上帝啊,求你施恩给我主人亚伯拉罕,使我今日遇见好机会。
And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.
Then he prayed, "O Lord , God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
And he said, O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, let me do well in what I have undertaken this day, and give your mercy to my master Abraham.
And he said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, send me, I pray thee, good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.
创24:13 我现今站在井旁,城内居民的女子们正出来打水。
Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:
See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water.
See, I am waiting here by the water-spring; and the daughters of the town are coming out to get water:
Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water. And the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.
创24:14 我向哪一个女子说:‘请你拿下水瓶来,给我水喝’,她若说:‘请喝!我也给你的骆驼喝’,愿那女子就作你所预定给你仆人以撒的妻。这样,我便知道你施恩给我主人了。”
And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.
May it be that when I say to a girl, 'Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,' and she says, 'Drink, and I'll water your camels too'-let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master."
Now, may the girl to whom I say, Let down your vessel and give me a drink, and who says in answer, Here is a drink for you and let me give water to your camels: may she be the one marked out by you for your servant Isaac: so may I be certain that you have been good to my master Abraham.
And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink. And she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also. Let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac. And thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master.
创24:15 话还没有说完,不料,利百加肩头上扛着水瓶出来。利百加是彼土利所生的;彼土利是亚伯拉罕兄弟拿鹤妻子密迦的儿子。
And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, who was the wife of Abraham's brother Nahor.
And even before his words were ended, Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Milcah, who was the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, came out with her water-vessel on her arm.
And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
创24:16 那女子容貌极其俊美,还是处女,也未曾有人亲近她。她下到井旁,打满了瓶,又上来。
And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
The girl was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever lain with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again.
She was a very beautiful girl, a virgin, who had never been touched by a man: and she went down to the spring to get water in her vessel.
And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her. And she went down to the fountain, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
创24:17 仆人跑上前去迎着她,说:“求你将瓶里的水给我一点喝。”
And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.
The servant hurried to meet her and said, "Please give me a little water from your jar."
And the servant came running to her and said, Give me a little water from your vessel.
And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Give me to drink, I pray thee, a little water from thy pitcher.
创24:18 女子说:“我主请喝!”就急忙拿下瓶来,托在手上给他喝。
And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
Drink, my lord," she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink.
And she said, Take a drink, my lord: and quickly letting down her vessel onto her hand, she gave him a drink.
And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
创24:19 女子给他喝了,就说:“我再为你的骆驼打水,叫骆驼也喝足。”
And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
After she had given him a drink, she said, "I'll draw water for your camels too, until they have finished drinking."
And having done so, she said, I will get water for your camels till they have had enough.
And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
创24:20 她就急忙把瓶里的水倒在槽里,又跑到井旁打水,就为所有的骆驼打上水来。
And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels.
And after putting the water from her vessel into the animals' drinking-place, she went quickly back to the spring and got water for all the camels.
And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw, and drew for all his camels.
Genesis 24:21-30 创世记第24章 21-30节
创24:21 那人定睛看她,一句话也不说,要晓得耶和华赐他通达的道路没有。
And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.
Without saying a word, the man watched her closely to learn whether or not the Lord had made his journey successful.
And the man, looking at her, said nothing, waiting to see if the Lord had given his journey a good outcome.
And the man looked stedfastly on her, holding his peace, to know whether Jehovah had made his journey prosperous or not.
创24:22 骆驼喝足了,那人就拿一个金环,重半舍客勒,两个金镯,重十舍客勒,给了那女子,
And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;
When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels.
And when the camels had had enough, the man took a gold nose-ring, half a shekel in weight, and two ornaments for her arms of ten shekels weight of gold;
And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold,
创24:23 说:“请告诉我,你是谁的女儿?你父亲家里有我们住宿的地方没有?”
And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in?
Then he asked, "Whose daughter are you? Please tell me, is there room in your father's house for us to spend the night?"
And said to her, Whose daughter are you? is there room in your father's house for us?
and said, Whose daughter art thou? Tell me, I pray thee. Is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in?
创24:24 女子说:“我是密迦与拿鹤之子彼土利的女儿”;
And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.
She answered him, "I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son that Milcah bore to Nahor."
And she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Milcah, Nahor's wife.
And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bare unto Nahor.
创24:25 又说:“我们家里足有粮草,也有住宿的地方。”
She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.
And she added, "We have plenty of straw and fodder, as well as room for you to spend the night."
And she said, We have a great store of dry grass and cattle-food, and there is room for you.
She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.
创24:26 那人就低头向耶和华下拜,
And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.
Then the man bowed down and worshiped the Lord ,
And with bent head the man gave worship to the Lord;
And the man bowed his head, and worshipped Jehovah.
创24:27 说:“耶和华我主人亚伯拉罕的上帝是应当称颂的,因他不断的以慈爱诚实待我主人。至于我,耶和华在路上引领我,直走到我主人的兄弟家里。”
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.
saying, "Praise be to the Lord , the God of my master Abraham, who has not abandoned his kindness and faithfulness to my master. As for me, the Lord has led me on the journey to the house of my master's relatives."
And said, Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has given a sign that he is good and true to my master, by guiding me straight to the house of my master's family.
And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who hath not forsaken his lovingkindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, Jehovah hath led me in the way to the house of my master's brethren.
创24:28 女子跑回去,照着这些话告诉她母亲和她家里的人。
And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things.
The girl ran and told her mother's household about these things.
So the girl went running and took the news of these things to her mother's house

创24:29 利百加有一个哥哥,名叫拉班,看见金环,又看见金镯在他妹子的手上,并听见他妹子利百加的话,说那人对我如此如此说。拉班就跑出来往井旁去,到那人跟前,见他仍站在骆驼旁边的井旁那里,
And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.
Now Rebekah had a brother named Laban, and he hurried out to the man at the spring.
Now Rebekah had a brother named Laban, and he came out quickly to the man at the water-spring.
And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the fountain.

And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.
As soon as he had seen the nose ring, and the bracelets on his sister's arms, and had heard Rebekah tell what the man said to her, he went out to the man and found him standing by the camels near the spring.
And when he saw the nose-ring and the ornaments on his sister's hands, and when she gave him word of what the man had said to her, then he went out to the man who was waiting with the camels by the water-spring.
And it came to pass, when he saw the ring, and the bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me. That he came unto the man. And, behold, he was standing by the camels at the fountain.
Genesis 24:31-40 创世记第24章 31-40节
创24:31 便对他说:“你这蒙耶和华赐福的,请进来,为什么站在外边?我已经收拾了房屋,也为骆驼预备了地方。”
And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.
Come, you who are blessed by the Lord ," he said. "Why are you standing out here? I have prepared the house and a place for the camels."
And he said to him, Come in, you on whom is the blessing of the Lord; why are you waiting outside? for I have made the house ready for you, and a place for the camels.
And he said, Come in, thou blessed of Jehovah. Wherefore standest thou without? For I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.
创24:32 那人就进了拉班的家。拉班卸了骆驼,用草料喂上,拿水给那人和跟随的人洗脚,
And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.
So the man went to the house, and the camels were unloaded. Straw and fodder were brought for the camels, and water for him and his men to wash their feet.
Then the man came into the house, and Laban took their cords off the camels and gave them dry grass and food, and he gave to him and the men who were with him water for washing their feet.
And the man came into the house, and he ungirded the camels. And he gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men that were with him.
创24:33 把饭摆在他面前,叫他吃,他却说:“我不吃,等我说明白我的事情再吃。”拉班说:“请说。”
And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.
Then food was set before him, but he said, "I will not eat until I have told you what I have to say." "Then tell us," Laban said.
And meat was put before him, but he said, I will not take food till I have made my business clear to you. And they said, Do so.
And there was set food before him to eat. But he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.
创24:34 他说:“我是亚伯拉罕的仆人。
And he said, I am Abraham's servant.
So he said, "I am Abraham's servant.

创24:35 耶和华大大的赐福给我主人,使他昌大,又赐给他羊群、牛群、金银、仆婢、骆驼,和驴。
And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.
The Lord has blessed my master abundantly, and he has become wealthy. He has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, menservants and maidservants, and camels and donkeys.
The Lord has given my master every blessing, and he has become great: he has given him flocks and herds and silver and gold, and men-servants and women-servants and camels and asses.
And Jehovah hath blessed my master greatly. And he is become great. And he hath given him flocks and herds, and silver and gold, and men-servants and maid-servants, and camels and asses.
创24:36 我主人的妻子撒拉年老的时候给我主人生了一个儿子;我主人也将一切所有的都给了这个儿子。
And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.
My master's wife Sarah has borne him a son in her old age, and he has given him everything he owns.
And when Sarah, my master's wife, was old, she gave birth to a son, to whom he has given all he has.
And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old. And unto him hath he given all that he hath.
创24:37 我主人叫我起誓说:‘你不要为我儿子娶迦南地的女子为妻。
And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:
And my master made me swear an oath, and said, 'You must not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live,

He replied, 'The Lord , before whom I have walked, will send his angel with you and make your journey a success, so that you can get a wife for my son from my own clan and from my father's family.
And he said, The Lord, whom I have ever kept before me, will send his angel with you, who will make it possible for you to get a wife for my son from my relations and my father's house;
And he said unto me, Jehovah, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way. And thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house.
Genesis 24:41-50 创世记第24章 41-50节
创24:41 只要你到了我本族那里,我使你起的誓就与你无干。他们若不把女子交给你,我使你起的誓也与你无干。’
Then shalt thou be clear from this my oath, when thou comest to my kindred; and if they give not thee one, thou shalt be clear from my oath.
Then, when you go to my clan, you will be released from my oath even if they refuse to give her to you-you will be released from my oath.'
And you will be free from your oath to me when you come to my people; and if they will not give her to you, you will be free from your oath.
Then shalt thou be clear from my oath, when thou comest to my kindred. And if they give her not to thee, thou shalt be clear from my oath.
创24:42 “我今日到了井旁,便说:‘耶和华我主人亚伯拉罕的上帝啊,愿你叫我所行的道路通达。
And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:
When I came to the spring today, I said, 'O Lord , God of my master Abraham, if you will, please grant success to the journey on which I have come.
And I came today to the water-spring, and I said, O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, if it is your purpose to give a good outcome to my journey,
And I came this day unto the fountain, and said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go.
创24:43 我如今站在井旁,对哪一个出来打水的女子说:请你把你瓶里的水给我一点喝;
Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;
See, I am standing beside this spring; if a maiden comes out to draw water and I say to her, "Please let me drink a little water from your jar,"
Let it come about that, while I am waiting here by the water-spring, if a girl comes to get water and I say to her, Give me a little water from your vessel, and she says,
Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water. And let it come to pass, that the maiden that cometh forth to draw, to whom I shall say, Give me, I pray thee, a little water from thy pitcher to drink.
创24:44 她若说:你只管喝,我也为你的骆驼打水;愿那女子就作耶和华给我主人儿子所预定的妻。’
And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master's son.
and if she says to me, "Drink, and I'll draw water for your camels too," let her be the one the Lord has chosen for my master's son.'
Take a drink, and I will get water for your camels; let her be the woman marked out by the Lord for my master's son.
And she shall say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels. Let the same be the woman whom Jehovah hath appointed for my master's son.
创24:45 我心里的话还没有说完,利百加就出来,肩头上扛着水瓶,下到井旁打水。我便对她说:‘请你给我水喝。’
And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.
Before I finished praying in my heart, Rebekah came out, with her jar on her shoulder. She went down to the spring and drew water, and I said to her, 'Please give me a drink.'
And even while I was saying this to myself, Rebekah came out with her vessel on her arm; and she went down to the spring to get water; and I said to her, Give me a drink.
And before I had done speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder. And she went down unto the fountain, and drew. And I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.

And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also.

I asked her, 'Whose daughter are you?'"She said, 'The daughter of Bethuel son of Nahor, whom Milcah bore to him.'"Then I put the ring in her nose and the bracelets on her arms,
And questioning her, I said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, the son of Nahor, and Milcah his wife. Then I put the ring on her nose and the ornaments on her hands.
And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him. And I put the ring upon her nose, and the bracelets upon her hands.

And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son.
and I bowed down and worshiped the Lord . I praised the Lord , the God of my master Abraham, who had led me on the right road to get the granddaughter of my master's brother for his son.
And with bent head I gave worship and praise to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, by whom I had been guided in the right way, to get the daughter of my master's brother for his son.
And I bowed my head, and worshipped Jehovah, and blessed Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter for his son.
创24:49 现在你们若愿以慈爱诚实待我主人,就告诉我;若不然,也告诉我,使我可以或向左,或向右。”
And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
Now if you will show kindness and faithfulness to my master, tell me; and if not, tell me, so I may know which way to turn."
And now, say if you will do what is good and right for my master or not, in order that it may be clear to me what I have to do.

And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.

Then he and the men who were with him had food and drink, and took their rest there that night; and in the morning he got up, and said, Let me now go back to my master.
